That's a fucking cool vacuum!
Appreciate this. Got my F2 and I was hunting for a tenon jig that didn't need too much modification for our fence.. lo and behold, you exist. :) Thanks for your time and well explained video/blog.
Just a couple of comments on his installation instructions versus the manual. At 35:40 the instructions in the manual state the bolts go the opposite direction the guy is showing in the video. I assume the manual is more practical for not puncturing the inner bag, but it looks better from the outside how he is doing it. Also, at 36:18 he shows inserting the bolt into the handle from the inside and placing the acorn nut inside the handle on the outside. Again, the manual states to do the opposite. Two problems with that is: 1) the acorn nut spins inside the hole of the handle because it is an indented area where you can't put a wrench on the nut and 2) if you insert the bolt from the outside like the manual states, the head of the bolt is too large to drop down inside the indented area and thus the supplied 3/4" bolt is too short to put the acorn nut on the inside. I had to go to HD and buy a 3/4" bolt with smaller head. One other small issue I had is the free-floating switch box. I only mention these two items because I wanted to make sure the nuts and bolts on the inside of the drum did not have anything sharp that might tear the bag. Minor issues, I know and not a knock on the rest of the machine.
wow, that looks so clean!
This was a very helpful video. The hardest part of this was getting the restraint plugs out. Even putting them in you must have very strong hands as this was also a struggle. Thanks for preparing the video. I’m all set now with 220v power.
We're glad this video helped!
Cool project... and didnt know HDU stand up to the elements without paint.. cool stuf !
Nice project. Could have included a lot more information (dimensions, supplies/suppliers, etc.)
I just installed this kit on my new 18BX and it works very well. I put all 4 rubber feet on before standing it up, it made doing so safer (rubber grabs the floor), and the axle/wheel assembly then just bolts right on. After that I tilted it back, put a 2x4 under and removed the 2 front rubber feet, easy peasy. The kit for the 18BX does not have the center bolt thing, dunno why but I don't miss it.. I find this heavy saw rolls around quite well, and turns easily also.
Well I've been looking at this fe for a month and i think i might buy it hope im not doing a mistake but i heard the service department isn't great at all
Thank you for your comment. We understand how important it is to get the support you need when making a big purchase. We take your feedback seriously and are continuously working to improve in all departments. We are here to help make sure you have a great experience with us, from purchase to usage.
@LagunaTools thank you for the response I don't mean it in a nusty way it's only some feedback however I've been looking at this f3 and it looks a awesome saw communication is important to me Thank you 😊
Very expensive door
Without this video, I would never have figured out how to put this thing together. The instruction manual sucks!
We appreciate your feedback. We strive to make the assembly process as stress-free as possible. We will take your comment into consideration for future instruction manuals.
Installed mine last week, did not notice the perpendicular adjustment screws in the manual - fixed the one minor area that needed help. Thanks
I noticed that this system is 110/220V capable, but does it come standard with a regular 110V prong?
Excellent video, thanks! Seems like you did not re-zero your work piece from the center to the lower left, yet the CNC was set at lower left. Was this part of creating the cut sheets? Also, would a vertical tab or two in the supports up into each shelf increase mounting rigidity? Last thing: it must be tricky to sand this? It seems the thickness is critical... it would be so easy to presand the full sheet, but material thickness consistency would suffer. Any tips there?
Nice jig!
These are my favorite stories. Keep up the great work Madera!!

Your instructional video is very detailed, i like that you get straight to the point and don't babble. I installed mine last week on my mini-max 45s. The instructions on how to eliminate drift with this fence is awesome, drift has been one of my achilles heels, well done by you and Laguna.
Thank you for the in-depth video. Your explanations and demonstrations are spot-on and were very helpful (easier than reading the manual). Just installed mine on the 18BX and the fence works perfectly (no slop). This DX3 fence is nicer/better than the one that came with the 18BX bandsaw. One 360 degree turn on the handle is 1/4", so easy to get 1/8" veneer pieces off the bandsaw.
I notice you have holes (dust vent?suction/vacume?) on the bandsaw base. (is this mainly mdf or is that an abs plastic or teflon?) (multiple holes wher the bandsaw blade goes in for the cut)
On the LT-18 i notice the baseplate is different. I have the Laguna 14BX (220v) bandsaw. . the one with the blue ceramic guards.. can i change it out for the black version on the LT-18?>
Thank you for your question on the bandsaw throat plate inserts. Your 14B|X Bandsaw uses the blue anodized aluminum throat plate insert. This insert has built-in leveling screws and a center screw to secure the insert to the table after leveling. The large, oblong center hole provides clearance to draw the sawdust down through this slot for collection by the dust ports below. This insert fits the 14|12, 14|BX, 14|CX, 18|BX, and 18|CX bandsaws. You can find replacement inserts at www.shop.lagunatools.com/Table-Insert-for-14-12-110-VOLT-BANDSAW. The square black insert that you saw in the video fits our Industrial Series Bandsaws. This insert is much thicker than the insert for your 14|BX and will not fit your saw. This is made from a durable, industrial-grade plastic and features the holes beside the blade slot. These holes assist in dust management for the Industrial Series saws. You can see this insert at www.shop.lagunatools.com/Throatplate-Italian-16HD-37
dont know if its an issue, helps or isnt necessary but id make the stop flip down so you can have it out of the way and flip it back up if needed
Great video. You showed an excellent way to design. Everthing was relative. Make things so simple and fast and accurate. Excellent!
How much is that cnc worth?
Hi….. Will this fit a 14/12 Laguna bandsaw? Cheers
Thank you for your interest. It will fit!
Will this fence fit other saws i have an 18 inch Jet and wanted to upgrade the fence for ages?
Yes it will!
It looks like an improvement over the previous model (which I have). This fence suffers from the same problem as the predecessor. It is time consuming to remove in order to utilize the entire width of the bandsaw table for other freehand jobs, such as cutting a wide, long board. The mechanism that holds the fence gets in the way. Simpler fences can be removed in toto leaving the guiding rail below the plane of the table. Is the mounting the same? How simple is it to upgrade?
I'm looking for it todo angle cuts, where i don't have to wels anything
I want to learn more, because im looking to go into business myself and this would help. Question, why haven't they hooked this up to an robotics ?????
Hi! Please visit the following page and fill out the customer service form: lagunatools.com/resources/customer-service/ Our team will help with any questions you have!
When putting the lens back in, the direction of the lens isn't all that clean. Up and down is really dependent on the orientation of the tube. Maybe something like "flat side" goes in and "round side" faces out might be more clear... Im assuming thats the direction it shoudl be but I'll find out when i actually perform this procedure
Why you guys make this video ... when you do not sell?
Can you put more blades on it like 4
What a special place and great job Brittny!!

Maybe put the part where you remove the back leveling feet at the beginning of the video. The assembly instructions begin with leveling feet and the mobility kit install with little mentioned about that part.
Cool makerspace. HackerLAB had a metric ton of Laguna Tools. now i have all types of Laguna tools as well.
For Resaw king - should the deepest part of the gullet be centered on the wheel or the whole blade itself? I think it would make sense for the blade to be a bit more forward on the tire since it is bigger blade?
What software does it use to control the labeler and feeder etc?
Hello, the Autoloader uses Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, and KCD.
Looks pretty awesome!!
Love mine.
Just got mine, and it’s great. Though there’s a lot of slop in the wheel, and a lot of play before it engages the rack. What’s the best way to tighten this up? Thanks for the great in-depth video, & looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
uh oh... not excited to hear that. mine arrives tomorrow. im relying on this being accurate
I think he's talking about the drift wheel not the main "left to right" wheel. Mine has NO slop / play whatsoever. Super tight.
@@NV..V No, I mean the main left-and-right wheel. But I’m glad to hear yours is ok. I have a call in to Laguna, and will report back!
@@jonathanh2096 Ugh Understood my friend. My apologies. I hope they make it right ASAP.
Did they ever help you fix it?
Where?
Urban Workshop in Costa Mesa, CA!
How about a video that actually shows some details of the fence? Talks about what saws it fits?
We have one here Nicholas: ua-cam.com/video/3Fjbry8C7P8/v-deo.html Thank you!
